Feb 1 – Day 32 – TITANIC!
You know what’s great? Finding people you haven’t talked to in awhile and finding them on a similar journey. One such person is an old friend and her name is Jenn. Jenn and I survived going to the same high school (GO LITTLETON LIONS!) and after awhile drifted apart. Like everyone else you never talk to again I forgot about her a little more each day. Somehow she ended up on my friends list in Facebook again and it’s where I found her doing something similar to my project. Her focus is a little more direct. She’s counting down to the end of Nursing School and in doing that is writing about her experiences. I’ve bookmarked her site and will be catching up with her adventures. I encourage you too as well since nobody should ever make such a long walk alone.

Day 19 – Jan 19th – Writing Fool
Today has turned into a great day and it mostly has to do with my writing. I haven’t written a thing fictional wise this month and it was getting to me. I finally sat down today and pounded out over 1,300 words. It was a fun write and I have to take a moment to extend thanks to Robert Parker for the inspiration. He passed away yesterday at the age of 77. I read all his Appaloosa novels (Brimestone, Resolution, Appaloose) just at the start of January. I didn’t enjoy the settings as much as I enjoyed the characters of the series. Much of what you will be seeing in my “The Cousins’ Dahl” will have echoes and influence of Mr. Parker. I am now going to have to read his Spenser series along with Jesse Stone novels to catch up on what many call some his best writing.
Jan 11 – Day 11 – I’m Batman!
I love all things Batman. I have many of his comics. I have a deep and abiding love for “Batman” and “Batman Returns”. His is my favorite superhero because all his super power comes from the depths of his heart and soul. Broken at a young age by the murder of his parents before his very eyes the young boy grows into a man who decides to take on the world of crime within Gotham and wage war against those that seek to destroy his city that once held great promise.
Jan 5 – Day 5 – Deliberation
Well, today is much better than yesterday. I actually got some things done and it’s not 10:00pm and pushing my limits of sleep seeing as I get up every morning at 4:30. Today was a great day as I woke up feeling better. That might have something to do with the fact that I burned 400 calories yesterday and pushed my body a bit. I also didn’t eat as much for dinner as I usually do and balanced it all out a little. The beauty of all this change is the small steps I’m taking to turn my gigantic Titanic life away from the iceberg of death. It’s like matrix time and at the end of the movie I won’t end in magnificent let down and failure. Matrix Revolutions I’m talking to you and that insanely long death scene.
