The song of the morning is “Night Moves” by Bob Seager. I’m sitting here in front of my glowing monitor trying to figure out what in the wide world of sports to talk about on this seventh day of nablowrimo. I could talk politics, but I’d end up just getting frustrated because I know what I saw won’t change much. I’ll mention I completed my registration for voting in Denver, CO and will be awaiting with baited breath my mail in ballot.
As the song plays, it talks about the sound of thunder. That’s a sound I deeply love hearing in the late night, early mornings. Together with the smell of rain and you’ve got my perfect setting. Mix in some hot chocolate and warm comforter with a little music from the Ipod. All is perfect.
The song talks about autumn and here in Denver, CO it’s getting colder. Tonight it is alleged to be freezing. You can always count on October to start the downward spiral towards Old Man Winter wandering back, rustling the trees free of leaves. Some are predicting that we’ll get snow before Halloween. I’d put good money on it snowing on Halloween because for so many years as far back as I can remember that’s happened several times. I can always remember having to wear a coat or heavy sweatshirt under or over my continuously used and reused Dracula costume.
I don’t understand why I had such a fascination with the guy, but it served me well all those years of tricking and treating.
With all the cold of All Hallows Eve comes the reality of winter here in the Rocky Mountain West. Snow and frost will be a daily reality. Rush hour traffic will be doubly frustrating (I blame you Californians…you too Texan transplants!) and annoying. The threat of a world ending storm rears its ugly head once again. Will the entire city get shut down again? Or will it be a mild winter? Who knows. Mother Nature and Weather are traditionally secret folks and even worse around the Rocky Mountains.
It’s nearing 3:00am on day seven of this project and I intend to retire to a good morning’s sleep. Today’s my day off from work after slogging through the weekend. I intend to try and make the best of it.
Y’all enjoy your Tuesday. I’ll try and think about you all.:)
Exercise Update: Did me another 45 minutes. Got some good fast walking and biking done. Two days down, the rest to go.
