365 Project

Well, hello everyone.  You’re here because you’re interested in this whole project I’m doing.  So, I’ll ’splain.

I’ve got things to work on.  See below for a copy of the post that lays it all out. I’m going to make it my goal to improve those things.  I’ve got 365 days to do it.  Will you join me in this insane journey?

2010 Resolutions

Number 1 – Lose it or Die! (hashtag #loseitordie)

I’m intending to be in shape and ready to do a throw down with Iron Man come January 2010. I’ve got weight to lose, muscle to build and a body to shape into shape. I weigh 223 pounds today. I want to get to 180 by the end of the year. I want to lose the stomach fat. I want to be able to run and not get tired. I want to be able to fit into all my pants and shorts. I want shirts to fit me and not fight me. To get this done I’ll be doing several things on a daily/weekly basis:

  1. 45 minute workout (Daily) – Be it treadmill, taking a run/walk in the neighborhood or whatever.
  2. Push ups, crunches, etc on a daily basis to start strengthening those muscles.
  3. Take a run on a weekend (Weekly)

Number 2 –

Get out! (hashtag #aaronouttathehouse)

I used to be a social sledgehammer.  I was the center of the party, even if people didn’t want me to be.  This might very well have been my waterloo at such a young age since I’ve now taken such a dramatic flip on the pendulum up until this point.  The idea here is to go to more events, get involved in small groups at my church, find a “crowd” and at @irant’s inspiration, rabble for a cause.

Number 3 –

Write it like you want it (hashtag #writelikeyouwantit)

I write a lot.  Probably too much.  The trouble is that I never finish any of my fiction. I’ve got upwards of ten stories sitting around uncompleted.  They’re not going anywhere and that’s gotta change.  The goal is to finish NANOWRIMO 2010 in November, write at least one short story between now and then and the overall goal is to actually finish one story by December 31st 2010.

Number 4 –

Rock out to more (hashtag #rockouttomore)

I’ve got a good library of music.  But it’s stagnant.  I need to “BAM!” it up like Emeril.  So the goal is to discover at minimum 365 new artists by the end of the year.  That’s a band a day.  Terrifying I know.  But it’s gotta be done.

Number 5 –

Get Smart-er (hashtag #getaaronsmarter)

I never finished college.  No degree.  Nothing.  I need that back.  I need to start getting smart again.  I’ve already started with podcasts from NPR, Howstuffworks and various other sources.  One goal is start school up again in the spring semester.  The other is to continue to get Bible Smart with a daily devotional/bible study.  It’s going to be a busy year.
