Well, the Saints have done it. They’ve won The Super Bowl. And if you watched the game I did you’d have no real argument that they didn’t deserve to win that game. They played hard, focused on the job at hand and kicked down the doors of the halls of professional football with that New Orleans zest and attitude to win their first championship since they started playing in Louisiana.
I’m not a football guy. I really couldn’t even tell you had to play the game. There are times when I come to appreciate certain things as part of sports history and that I should probably pay attention and get involved. When the Denver Broncos were on fire early in the season and kicked into gear after some awful losses…and then lost it all I paid attention. I actually said the good games made me want to be a honest to goodness Broncos fan. Alas Denver suffered from what we suffer from each year and we didn’t even get to stand on the hill outside The Big Dance.
And so ends another football season. We’ll all be back when it starts up again and I’ll be hanging out on the sidelines trying not to get excited. Then I’ll get hit from the action on the field, go flying into the walls of the stadium and find myself interested again.
Ah football.
